Two Railway Route to Airport Will Be Operated by 2013




Jakarta - Kementerian Perhubungan / Kemenhub (The Ministry of Transportation) targets that the construction of the railway line North and South towards Soekarno-Hatta International Airport can be completed in less than two years.

"Current work continues and expected in 2013 can already operated," said Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono in a national railways seminar entitled Membangun Kereta Api Indonesia Masa Depan (Build Future Train of Indonesia) in the Balai Sidang Universitas Indonesia (UI) in Depok, on Wednesday (25/1/2012).

The Ministry of transportation has established the railway towards Soekarno-Hatta Airport will consist of two lines, namely commuter line and express. The Commuter line passes through the area and an express pass through Pluit. The airport railway will cross every 15 to 30 minutes.

The express lanes will be built with the floating model, through the route of the Manggarai-Sudirman-Tanah Abang-Duri-Angke-Pluit-Bandara Soekarno Hatta. Meanwhile, commuter rail route through the existing line from Manggarai-Sudirman-Tanah Abang-Duri-Grogol-Bojong Indah-Kalideres-Tanah Tinggi-Bandara Soekarno Hatta. This development projects that uses partnership patterns of government with private or public private partnership (PPP).
