Bali Just Became Bogged Down

Bali as the favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia wracked by problems of congestion. This is a complaint for the tourists who come to Bali. "Indeed, for now Bali experiencing a surfeit in terms of infrastructure," says Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu, at a news conference in Gedung Sapta Pesona, Jakarta, Monday (5/3/2012).

Therefore, Mari said, some things have been attempted to resolve it. The first is the expansion of Ngurah Rai airport which is expected to be completed by mid of 2013. The second is the construction of a new toll road to the airport.

"There even a plan for a new airport in the north of Bali which still being discussed, "said Mari.

Earlier, Mari reveals that her party make improvements to diversify the market. In this case, how can people who've often to Bali began to think "beyond Bali" or destinations outside of Bali.

"Bali as an icon of us, its still important. But how do we develop other destinations to increase tourist visits in other areas," she said.
