Surferer Contributed To Recommend Bali to World Wide


Some professional surferers in Bali said that because of the surferers which are recommended Bali
to the world, so that this island become the tourism destination for the both domestic and abroad tourists.

"Without the merit of our predecessors who have opened the eyes of the world about the beauty and charm of the beaches in Bali as done Alby Falzon, an Australian who also a surferer and film-maker, this is will not happen," said Tai Graham, a professional surferer from Australia who have settled some years in Bali, Tuesday (10/10/2012).

In 1970's, Alby came to Bali to make a film about surfing atmosphere in Uluwatu beach. By the movie, Uluwatu beach started to sought after by surferers from all around the world, because of its high wave.

Beach of Uluwatu almost have a character of wave which couldn't controlled and predicted, like beaches in Hawaii, California and Australia. "At the time, Alby described how to reach Uluwatu beach through his movie, which entitled Morning of the Earth," said him.

The movie narrated about how to reach Uluwatu within 5 hours from Kuta, because of its 30 km terrain could be taken by motorcycle and on foot only.

The director also showed about how great surfing the wave and by single pin board. "Essentially, by the exsistence of movie, it has opened the eye of the world about surfing in Uluwatu, so it didnt need a long time to make bali became so famous. That's why surfing is them most important part in term of introduced tourism in this region," said him.

According to Graham, in the year of 1970's also predicted the beginning of surfing world entering the Island of God (Bali).

In addition to Alby Falzon, another professional surferer at that era named Gerry Lopez from Hawaii came to Bali to found challenging wave to being explored.
