William Wongso: Indonesian Food Will Be The World's Culinary Influence

How confusing if we talking about Indonesian food, as it countless. So many in variant. William Wongso, a culinary expert from Indonesia said that Indonesian food not just 'rich', but also rich in variant and extreme.

"Along with one each other (Indonesian food)  has no correlation. If we track it  there were some basic of chili, garlic or red onions, there got some similiarities." said him. Internationally, Indonesian food indeed is less-known for Asian food, its popularity is still under Thailand, India or Vietnam cuisine.

However, the culinary world has begun to be at saturation point. For example, French cuisine as the most famous foods are already beginning to be felt boring to their lovers and world caliber chefs. " The food reference direction is toward our region. Because when we talk about the French, it is stopped. What else is willing to learn from France? Nothing. Learning from Italy is also the same." said William who learned by himself about Indonesian culinary.

According to William, the question is, can Indonesian culinary overtake the French food? "We have natural resources, but Indonesia still has not been able to participate in the world's cuisine map. We don't have the red dot." said William while in the celebration of Aku Cinta Masakan Indonesia ( I Love Indonesian Culinary)  community, last thursday (Sept. 24, 2015).

For him, to enhance Indonesian culinary as main attraction, the national tourism would need participations from many parties. "We're still in the street level." added him. "Not enough if depend on government only, it needs contribution from industries to enhance Indonesian culinary." said William again.
