Bali Just Became Bogged Down



Bali as the favorite tourist destinations in Indonesia wracked by problems of congestion. This is a complaint for the tourists who come to Bali. "Indeed, for now Bali experiencing a surfeit in terms of infrastructure," says Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu, at a news conference in Gedung Sapta Pesona, Jakarta, Monday (5/3/2012).

Therefore, Mari said, some things have been attempted to resolve it. The first is the expansion of Ngurah Rai airport which is expected to be completed by mid of 2013. The second is the construction of a new toll road to the airport.

"There even a plan for a new airport in the north of Bali which still being discussed, "said Mari.

Earlier, Mari reveals that her party make improvements to diversify the market. In this case, how can people who've often to Bali began to think "beyond Bali" or destinations outside of Bali.

"Bali as an icon of us, its still important. But how do we develop other destinations to increase tourist visits in other areas," she said.

Swedish Society Reluctant Travelling to Bali



Society of Sweden and countries in Eastern Europe are reluctant trip to Bali because of the lack of direct flight path to Denpasar. "It makes most of our people prefer to trip to Thailand as vacation destination rather than Bali," said a member of Sweden parliament, Sven-Erik Bucht, on the sidelines of a meeting with the regional representative in Kerobokan, Badung Regency, Monday (5/3/2012).

Erik spare it, remembering Bali tourism potential is so huge and able to attract the European public including Sweden, which require a different atmosphere in a vacation. "Our Community is excited to see the culture and hospitality of the people in Bali that are famous. However, the lack of direct flights made many people choose Thailand. This is because most of them reluctant to perform flight if should be transit first," he said.



Erik suggested to open a direct flights from major cities in Europe, such as Frankfurt to Denpasar.

Erik added, because Frankfurt is the largest city in Europe, so that most of the people of the continent's flight from there.

In the meantime, member of regional representatives, I Nengah Wiratha, said that to attract tourists from europe, certainly needs to fix the infrastructure and environment first. "In addition, we currently deliver to the related parties, such as Garuda Indonesia, to open the intended flight route," he said.

Menteri Koordinator Kesejahteraan Rakyat (Coordinating Minister of People's Welfare) Agung Laksono approves proposal of dangdut music registered to get UNESCO recognition as Indonesian art.

"We are agree. Any form requirements that were determined have to be fulfilled. The Government is ready to go," said Agung Laksono on the opening of the Persatuan Artis Musik Melayu-Dangdut Indonesia (PAMMI) national congress in Surabaya, Saturday (3/3/2012).

According to him, UNESCO is an international which have a clear rules, so that the proposal should be prepared well. His party is optimistic because dangdut assessed only by Indonesia which is not belonging to other nations. Dangdut artists recommended to undertook consultations with stakeholders, among of them the Ministry of Culture & Education, Youth Ministry and the Ministry of People's Welfare.



"As reinforcement of existence, this music to be recognized wide world. Not only have an impact for the artists, but Indonesian also feel the additional positive effecs, among other elements of the economy or trading," said the ex-chairman of the house of reprsentatives.

However, the current rate that all the people in this country or abroad has already admitted that dangdut belongs to Indonesia. Meanwhile, responding to the dangdut music circulation in Indonesia right now, Agung Laksono disclose his concerns with rampant piracy in Indonesia's music industries.

"Current target is a dangdut music. Many pieces of pirated cassettes or CD's of dangdut music. This has to be prevented and should not happen," said the politician.
