62 Countries Will Exhibit Their Stamps in Jakarta

The stamps of King William III was the first stamps issued by
the Government Netherlands in Indonesia on 1 April 1864.


Representatives from 62 countries will be showcased in the postage in JCC Jakarta, the event entitled World Stamp Championship and Exhibition 2012 Indonesia on18-24 June 2012.


"Up to this point, recorded already 62 countries from all continents will follow this event," said the chairman of World Stamp Championship and Exhibition Indonesia 2012, Sriyoto in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Some of these countries include United States, Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, South Africa, and the whole country in ASEAN.

In addition, as much as 80 "stamp dealer" stamp seller or agent both from within and outside the country have signed up to participate in the exhibition led by Headquarters Of Philatelist Indonesia and PT Pos Indonesia.

Dealer stamp from abroad who have signed up including Thailand Post, Singapore Post, Chinese Taipei Post, Giblartar Post, New Zealand post, IGPC United Kingdom, Latinamerica Stamp, Tunisia, Venezuela, Lithuania, and Russia CCPT. "We are targeting this exhibition will be visited at least 21.000 visitors during the week of fair," he said.

On that occasion, will be exhibited about 2,500 types of stamps consists of around 40,000 sheet collections from around the world. Otherwise it will be exhibited as a replica of the oldest stamps of Mauritius, which published in 1874.


It invested fund about 12 billion rupiahs for organizing the exhibition themed "Jembatan Menuju Dunia yang Damai Melalui Perangko" (Bridge to World Peace Through a Postage Stamp). In addition to the spot sales, the exhibition assembled with an international level competition competing collections of postage stamps and other postal objects belonging to philatelist from around the world.


"Other activities include setting up a competition, coloring postage stamps competition, seminar and workshop about philately, kid corner, batik demo, performing arts, and quiz about philately," he said.


Vice Chairman of World Stamp Championship and Exhibition 2012, Indonesia, Aan Anwar said, PT Pos Indonesia will publish 14 Special Edition postage stamp series Indonesia 2012. "Specificity lies in its design, the rising number of packaging and prices," he said.

Featured themed designs, batik, shio series, as well as the cultural heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO. As many as seven editions published prior to the day of the execution of the exhibition and the seven other editions published during the exhibition taking place.

In the exhibition, the plan will also be issued a passport stamp philately which given to every stand sales and other philately things from different participating countries including Indonesia.

It hoped the exhibition can educate people in the homeland to the of world philately as yet little known at once raised the image of Indonesia in the international scene.
