The Increasing Visitor of Lombok From US

The trend of hotel and flight ticket searching of Lombok through search engine Wego.com increasig this year. Globally, from January to September 2012 there is 41% increment, than last
year in the same period. The most rapid increasing come from US. One from five searching accessed by visitor from US.

This trend equal to increasing in amount of visitors to Lombok in first semester of 2012. Data from The Office of Culture and Tourism of Nusa Tenggara Barat recorded that tourist to Lombok increased 36% in first semester of 2012 than first semester of 2011, which reached 500 thousands. So that, target of program Visit Lombok Sumbawa seems to be easy, remembering data above.

From the visitor's number, local tourist still dominant. But, foreign tourist increased 47% in that semester than last year. This trend can be seen in search engine Wego.com

Within January to September 2012, more than 50% of Wego user in 52 countries searching information of flight ticket to Lombok. This is amazing, searching amount from US bolting become 20% from global total.

“We seeing there is a trend of seaching about new various destinations in Indonesia, from both local and foreign tourist,” explained Managing Director Wego Indonesia Graham Hills within press released which accepted Kompas.com.

He said Bali maybe still the most seached, but Lombok also still popular, as the ease of online information about Lombok. He predicted, this factor could increase the number of visit in Lombok.

In the future, another destination such as Padang, Wakatobi or Manado also could be popular in Indonesia. These three destinations also focused by traveller's online searching, added Hills.
