The growing popularity of Ubud in Bali as a tourist destination is not able to push up domestic tourist to visits the area. Tourists who dominated the Ubud still from
abroad, while domestic tourist prefer to south part of Bali.
"80 percent the proportion of foreign tourists, most domestic only 20 percent. Not like in Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, contrast showers," said Ketut Sumartono from Ubud Hotels Association (UHA) when met in Ubud, Gianyar, Thursday (1/3/2012).
Therefore, the UHA organized an event, Ubud Domestic Agent Table Top. This event is a meeting between tourism travel agency based in Jakarta and Surabaya with hotels in Ubud that are incorporated in the UHA. This, further Ketut, to introduce and promote Ubud as tourist destinations to domestic tourists.
Ketut reveals, foreign tourists who visit Ubud majority comes from Japan. Since Japan tsunami happens in 2011, he continued, there was a significant decline in tourist visits from Japan.

He revealed, the visit of tourists from Europe decreased to 20 percent so that Ubud needs to sweep Europe market and Japan, namely domestic tourists.
"Indonesian economic in strong condition. Domestic tourists to Ubud usually from Jakarta and Surabaya. Many have already begun to Ubud because avoids south Bali of its crowded. Those looking for tranquility in Ubud," said Ketut.
Ubud Hotel Association is an Association of hotels, resorts and villas which in Ubud region. The Association was formed in 2004 with a number of members 46 hotels and resorts. The primary mission of the association is to voice Ubud as one of the tourism destination in Bali in one container.
Art and culture became the major focus for Ubud's destination excellence. Recently, Ubud is increasingly popular after becoming the background shooting the of movie Eat, Pray, and Love in 2010. Ubud also crowned as the best city in Asia by Conde Nast Traveller reader's choice 2009 version.
