and local society could follow culinary, marine and culture feast for three days.
In next 17 to 19 May 2012, district of West Halmahera, Halmahera Island, North Maluku will held an annual festival. Festival Teluk Jailolo/ FTJ (Bay Festival of Jailolo) which have been three times held and had a good appreciation in every year, for this year the theme entitled 'The Amazing Golden Spice Island'.
Maluku indeed famous with its richness of spices. Even before Indonesia well-known in the world, Maluku has been visited by foreigners. Starts from the history, this festival taking the theme of spices.

"Before know Indonesia, the Portuguese already known Maluku," said the chief of West Halmahera, Namto Hui Roba at press conference in Ministry of Tourism nd Creative Economy, Jakarta (04/05/2012).
FTJ have a main program which has not owned by any region, it named 'Cabaret On The Sea'. A drama which in historical theme of the origin of spices, that drama performed on the Jailolo bay. Thats why this cabaret become the most unique and the top event of the festival.
Spice tourism in the festival not less interesting, tourists also can join 'Spice Trip' which is held by organizer. They will take to visit spice plantations, not on foot or by four wheeled vehilces but by a bull cart.
"The tourists will take touring in the clove, nutmeg and cocoa plantations by a bull cart," said Namto.

This unique transportation surely will attract the interest of tourists to follow the program. Moreover added with the fragrance of clove flowers which will accompanying along the way. This festival coincides with the blooming of clove flowers. Than pala which is blooming every year.
"They can pick and taste the nutmeg," added Namto.
In addtion to all of it, there are more programs which could be joined like people party and marine ritual Sigofi Ngolo. For you who want to join in this festival, you could just straight come to Makasar of Manado. From Jakarta, there are 8 flight a day which depart to the cities. From there, you can continue your trip to Ternate. It needs 45 minutes by sea trip to West Halmahera by fast boat. If you using ordinary wood boat, the trip will taken on 1 hour.
