Soneta Fans Club Indonesia Jawa Timur (SFCI Jatim) would set up a Museum of Soneta to commemorate the historical objects that ever used by Rhoma Irama and his musical group, Soneta.
"We're currently collecting and searching for the objects as well as other accessories which marks the Soneta," said the chairman of SFCI west java, Surya Aka Irama told to the reporters in Surabaya, Wednesday (18/1/2012).
It's expected, the museum will exist at least in 2015. Over the past three years, he and about 200 members in west java, collecting pieces of tape and activities documentation of Soneta while on stage.
Soneta Museum, continued him, is the first to exist in Indonesia. Surya Aka confessed, Bang Haji, Rhoma Irama's nickname as Soneta leaders, is proud of the plan.
"It's the only and first in Indonesia. Bang Haji is very proud and supportive at all by the existence of this museum," said the prominent of dangdut music in East Java.
His party also still looking for a place that will be used for the museum in Surabaya. According to him, it was considered appropriate to establish the Museum, because as provincial capital which is considered to be a core of Soneta Rhoma Irama.
"We are very confident of being able to set up the museum, because of the provision of collection and historical objects such as Bang Haji's and Soneta's documentation. The owner also ready (collections) to donate to the museum," said the Secretary of Persatuan Artis Musik Melayu Dangdut Indonesia/ PAMMI (Association of Indonesian Dangdut-Malay Music Artist) of west java.
