Bogor found by Netherland's Governor General, GW Baron Van Imhoff, this beautiful town which
is within neighborhood of Jakarta area, chosen as rest area for Netherlands whose was worked in Batavia. Buitenzorg, which means regardless of the difficulties, became the origin name of Bogor. This weekend maybe the right time for you to lost yourself from all of your problems, playing with eagles, trying some traditional snacks and enjoying the beauty of Bogor from the skies.

Bogor known as a paradise for eagle's habitats in Java island. You can see them in Suaka Elang, located in Kampung Loji, Subdistrict Cigombong. This rehabilitation center is a part of National Park of Gunung Halimun Salak. The entry ticket to explore the park is very cheap, only Rp. 2.500/ person.

The biggest tropical rain forest in Java Island, in 113.357 hectares become an comfortable shelter for javanese eagles population. This place established in 2008, in this sanctuary there are 3 kinds of eagles which are rehabilitated, they are Ular Bido, Brontok  and Javanese eagles.

Every of them occupying transit cage, display cage and rehabilitation cage. Transit cage is a place for  eagles which are just entering the rehabilitation center, display cage for healing and rehabilitation cage is use for eagles which ready to release out to wild life.


Visitors can only seeing the eagles which are in display cage, but you can feed them. Just call the official to help you to get closer to the eagles. If you want to, you can be a foster parent for the eagles. Interesting?
