In order to take the mission for clean environment in tourism destionation, especially in Tidung island in Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta. Gerakan Mulung Tidung/ GMT (Movement of Mulung Tidung) invites the tourist to keep the environment's sanitation by trash scaveging.
The main target of scaveging is Tidung island itself. This last for the third time, This GMT implemented on last 29 and 30 September 2012. Tidung island has been visited rapidly since 2009.
Particularly in weekend, Tidung island will fulfilled with tourists which are coming for swimming in the beach or just bicycling around the island. On the peak of the weekend, the amount of tourists can reach up to 1000 tourists.
In general, the tourism management in the island directly handled by local society, start from the staying places which are in homestay concept, bicycle rentals, snorkeling and the other water sport equipments, and surely for food business.

But, the more visitors, Tidung island facing the attack of garbage. Though, the incoming garbage not merely from the tourist, but its more often that overflow of garbage from land of Jakarta which floating to the island.
Therefore, in addition to invite the tourist to more careful to the environment, GMT also tries to educate the society, mainly in garbage management.
Environment loving concept which being carried by GMT also tries to persuade to utilize the garbage by applying the concept "reduce, reuse, recycle". GMT hope the society more creative and obtain the other economic benefit of garbage.
