Department of Culture and Tourism Bangka Belitung makes a total solar eclipse as a tourism agenda in 2016, because of the high interest of tourists to enjoy this rare natural phenomenon.
"Total solar eclipse is expected to take place in March 2016 in Belitung Regency, Central Bangka and other districts," said the Head of Culture & Tourism of Bangka Belitung, KA Tajuddin in Pangkalpinang, Friday (10/02/2015).
He said that the natural phenomenon occurs once in 40 years, then this is an opportunity for government to improve both domestic and foreign tourist visit to this region.
"Now many communities and tourists who enroll to some travel agents and had booked the hotel, so they can visit to enjoy this rare natural phenomenon," he said.
Tajuddin explained that they also have prepared other tourism agenda so that tourists can enjoy the culture, natural beauty and typical cuisine of this region. "The tourists would not only come for the solar eclipse, but they will also enjoy the natural beauty, beaches, arts and culture and other tourism potential," he said.
According to him, tourists visit will certainly have an impact on the development of tourism, small and medium business and the welfare of local society.
"This natural phenomenon expected to increase tourist visits, so as to move the economy of the socety in this area," he hoped.
