Taman Sari have some epithets, like istana air (water pallace) or Sultan's resting place and welcoming the guest. Its location in the south of Keraton Yogyakarta and not too away from downtown Yogyakarta. Its typical buildings will make you easily find Taman Sari.



When you entering this place, a big overlaying pool will welcome you. It was for Sultan's concubines bathing pool. Not far from the pool, on either side there so many rooms, they are Sultan's room and used kitchen.

In addition to it, there's so many secret tunnels in this place. Reputedly, there is a secret path which connecting Taman Sari with Keraton Yogyakarta. Some even say that tunnels lead to the south seas as for entering way for Ratu Roro Kidul to meet Sultan. Regardless of the myth, this tunnels are too beautiful to pass up.
