Komodo Officially Accepted As New 7 Wonders of Nature

Taman Nasional Komodo or Komodo National Park in Nusat Tenggara Timr, Wednesday (16/05/2012), finally officially stated as one of seven wonders of
nature by New 7 Wonders Foundation.

"The success of Komodo National Park become an inspiring example for how a society can together try to protect a species which close to the extinction," said the president of New 7 Wonders Foundation, Bernard Weber in his press release.

Weber said that the voting by short message service (sms) which collected a large number of voters, shows that Indonesian have been expressing their proud to the nature's heritage, which also a part of the world's mosaic.



The ambassador of Komodo and the chairman of Komodo Kita Foundation, Jusuf Kalla, revealed that the stating process of Komodo National Park as The New 7 Wonders of Nature taken more than 5 months for clarification and vote's counting.


"I thank to all of Indonesian society who faithfully sent so much messages," said Kalla.


In addition to Komodo National park, the other nature's wonder which also voted are Halong Bay, Iguazu Falls, Jeju Island, Puerto Rico Princesa Underground RIver, Table Mountain and Amazon (still in processing of clarification).
