Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Menparekraf) / Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu hoping that Indonesian architect can give more big contributions to the development of national tourism so that it can compete within international level.

They have an important role to create qualified architectures which reflecting original Indonesia like building of hotel, restaurant, gallery or museum.

"Creative ideas which are came from architect can raise particular place become a competitive value in national level. With architecture arts which fulfill their (tourist) expectation, they will gladly visit Indonesia and someday will return back," said Mari while opening The 15th Asian Congress of Architect in Nusa Dua, Bali, Monday (29/10/2012).

The culture diversity in Indonesia, especially for its buildings can be a valuable capital for tourism world if it managed properly. In the middle of modern era, a courage to raise local wisdom with high attention to the environment can be a certain attraction for tourist who visits Indonesia.

One example oflocal wisdom which today still exist in Balinese society, there are forbid to build a construction that surpassing the high of coconut tree.

"That should be respond by architect, when they designed a tourism place. And if we explain it to the tourist they would gladly appreciate it," said Mari.

To invite more touristsl, Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif/ Kemenparekraf  (Minister of Tourism and Creative Economic) launched many strategies. One of them is to make Indonesia as a heaven for backpackers, with 90 days visa.

Backpacker related with tourist and low budget travelling. Obviously, this kind of tourist is the visiting Indonesia most. Therefore Kemenparekraf targetting to invite more backpacker to Indonesia. Surely from all around the world.

"There was a good ide, what if we targetting for backpacker? Because they staying for a longer period and visitting so many spots," said Minister of Kamenparekraf Mari Elka Pangestu today in Gedung Sapta Pesona, Jakarta.

She added, backpacker usually stay for a long time and spend more money. In addition they dont only staying in one place, but always moving from one place to the other, like tourist in general.

"We also made a proposal about how to a special 90 days visa could be given to the backpackers. Of course we will cooperate with immigration party." said her.


The airlines also encouraged to cooperate, to ease the backpackers by accomodate special package for backpacker. That also discoursed by Mari.

In different opportunity, the vice minister of Kamenparekraf, Sapta Nirwandar revealed that backpackers have a big potency. They, stay longer and spend the cash continously.

"In one day, they can spend a hundred dollars," said him.

We hope that 90 days visa could invite more foreign touris to Indonesia, especially the backpackers. In order to raising the local economy, also to promote Indonesia's beauty to the world.
