Ketut Liyer's Charm until Bulgaria



Bulgaria, a country located in eastern europe, has similarities with Balinese culture. Currently, tourists from Bulgaria more interested in visitting Bali because of these similarities. What is that?

"People in Bulgaria pleased with mystical things. We have a shaman, like Bali that have a shaman as well," says Greta Veselinova, director and founder of Libra, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Tourism Forum, Manado, recently. Libra is a tour operator from Bulgaria.

Shaman who he referred to the intention of Bali as balian. Balian was believed to have the ability to treat traditionally as well as provide spiritual guidance. Foreign tourists who come to Bali used to call it as a traditional healer.

According to Greta, a documentary that tells balian was running in his country. Since then, she said, people of Bulgaria were attracted to Bali for feel by themself its experience of meeting balian.
"More and more people of Bulgaria that came to my office to ask about the shaman and ask about guided tours to Bali to meet the shamans," she said.

She planning to visit Bali at the end of this month in order to design a tour package to meet balian. One of the traditional healer from Bali which is quite famous in the world is Ketut Liyer. Since he appeared in the book and film of Eat, Pray, Love, a growing number of foreign tourists who come to his house to meet and consult to him directly.

In Ubud, travel agency used to selling tour package to meet traditional healer. After the tourists brought to visiting some attractions place in Ubud, they came to home of balian, both for spiritual consultation or traditional treatment.
