Celebrate Kuningan, Money Rain in Tabanan



Hindu people in Bali celebrating Kuningan day, Saturday (11/2/2012) as a series of Galungan on Wednesday, last week. If usually Hindus celebrate Kuningan with praying in the temple with the family, the villagers of Bongan Tabanan have unique traditions to commemorate the day that fell  once in every 6 months.

In the village that consists of 100 families have an unique tradition, they spreading money called Mesuryak. According to the beliefs of the citizens, the money is spread out when Mesuryak is a means to equip ancestral spirits who had died so that have a good place in their world.

"Mesuryak tradition is a tradition that trusted to deliver ancestors to heaven, "said Kelian Adat Banjar Bongan Gede, I Made Wardana, on the sidelines of events Mesuryak in this morning.

In every house that does the tradition of Mesuryak invaded by citizens who want to gaining money that spread out in the air by the host. From children to adults, they did not hesitate to mutual scrambling for money, from Rp 500 to Rp 100 thousand. In fact, not a few who suffered injuries due to a fall when this money rain held.
