Switzerland Snap Tourist from Indonesia



Switzerland's Ambassador to Indonesia Heinz Walker Nederkoorn says  Switzerland currently started aiming for tourists coming from Indonesia as economy improving in the
country. "A lot of things to be found in Switzerland, in addition to the scenery and beautiful places, there are also colleges and a banking system that needs no doubt," said Nederkoorn in Jakarta, Thursday (23/2/2012).

Switzerland's ambassador says in 2010, based on hotel occupancy rates in Switzerland, the number of Indonesian people who spend the night in the coutnry as much as 38.327 peoples. And increased to 55.797 in 2011. "Its growth reached 46 percent. Indonesia is the third country in Southeast Asia after Singapore and Thailand," he said.


The growing number of Indonesian people who paid a visit to Switzerland, had been progressing since four years ago. "We are targeting this year could rise 12 to 13 percent or about 70,000 peoples travelled to Switzerland," he said.

Nederkoorn added, the relationship between Indonesia and Switzerland Tourism does not only increase the economic matter but also in terms of public relations of the two countries.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Switzerland Tourism Marketing, Urs Eberhard says many reasons for visit Switzerland. "A lot of festivals in Switzerland. For example, on 14 and 15 April the upcoming festival of balloons, then fireworks festival in August or a visit to a number of attractions in Switzerland," explains him.

Eberhard also added, the visitor can see directly the glaciers, lakes, ride the tramway or of historical tourism.

People of Switzerland as well as maintaining and caring for the environment around. So that visitors who come can feel comfortable being in the country. In the near future, adds Eberhard, his party will open a representative office in Jakarta to strengthen relationships with travel agents.
