Next June will be held great event in North Maluku, Sail Morotai 2012. To succeed the event, the Minister of Transportation, EE Mangindaan checking out the preparation.
In his visit, the minister asks to add more access of road for tourists."My goal here, there is a development program of East Indonesia, in order to myself check the situation of the field. Especially for Sail Morotai, i have so many tasks, particularly in land transportation, water and air transportation," sain EE Mangindaan in his visit in Morotai, North Maluku, Friday (20/04/2012).
According to Mangindaan, some things that must to be addressed, the first is the air transportation in the air force airport of TNI AU Morotai which becomes the only one access of air route to Morotai. The runway of the airplane should be cleaned up and repaired, all of its supporting facilities.
"The clearing runway which closed, build the terminal, both for public or VIP. From 7 runways that we will activated, one runway that originally in 3.000 meters span, but in fact only used in 2.400 meters," said him.
The management of the airport, in this term is TNI Angkatan Udara (The Airforce Army) asked a number of additional facilities to maximizing the flight services. They are stairs for passangers, fuels for the planes, the ambulance cars, electric generators, fire trucks and more additional voltages from PLN (State's Electricity Company).
"These are the unavailable, thats why i visit here," said him.
Meanwhile for the water routes, Mangindaan asked to the ports to repair their facilities. Among of them is the terminal for the passanger and the port that should be extended.
"The port in not so extended, so that don't look for today but 10 years forward. We have talk about 10 years forward." said Mangindaan.

As well as for land transportation, Mangindaan stated his party will add some routes for ferries and roro which could load the passangers and their vehicles, for who take a long trip.
"In additionn of it also prepared some bus for North Maluku. Especially for Morotai, we will lend 20 busses for the local society and tourist access. Because during the trip from airport to the port, rarely i seen them, no bus or any public transportations," encored him.
