Sapta: Despite Crisis, They Stay Holidays

There are three things that become a necessity for Belgium society, apartments or residences, entertainment and vacation. Same is the case with most of the European community, especially from Netherlands and Germany, the holidays have become necessities of life.

"Holiday became a part of their lives. Despite the crisis, they stay holidays, touring," said  Wakil Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy), Sapta Nirwandar, at the Sapta Pesona, Jakarta, Monday (14/2/2012).

Therefore, the participation of Indonesia in Venlo World Expo Floride 2012 which will take place in the Netherlands, is one of the way to promote Indonesia to Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium.




Sapta explained tourists from Netherlands who came to Indonesia reached 151.836 visitors in 2010, while in 2011 reach 157.693. Tourists from Germany to Indonesia totaled 145.244 visitors, dropping in 2011 in figure 141.883. While the original Belgium reached 22.388 visitors.

According to Sapta, the numbers of visitors from Netherlands and Germany who came to Indonesia is still small when compared to total outbond (abroad tourists) from each country.

"Tourists from the Netherlands who going outbond abroad reached 18.388.000 in 2010. Germany even until the 85.174.000," he said.

In the meantime, Sapta explains capacity of flight seats between Indonesia and the Netherlands reached the 459.316 seats per year. The airline provides, among others, KLM Royal Dutch, Lufthansa, and Garuda. Garuda has a capacity of 67.704 seats per year.
