Hellofest, could be not just show the appearance of costumes and sheer entertainment. But, more than that, Hellofest have become container for gathering of animation maniac from various regions in Indonesia. Lovers of animation and cosplay no longer limited to the kids age, but adolescents too, up to the adults also soluble in their each favourite characters.
This perceived by Reicinta (17) and Salma (15), from Bandung. "Initially we felt weird because the same rabid with anime. But once we join the community and following events such as Hellofest, so met many people like us and the confidence it has increased," said Reicinta, Saturday (4/2/2012), at Balai Kartini, Jakarta.
Reicinta directly get her confident when wearing the costume that looked weird by public. On this Hellofest, Reicinta chose the character Madame Red in "Kuroshishuji" story. "I love to take pictures with people and they also love to see this costume, " she said.
Said Reicinta, the beginning of her acquaintance with cosplay started from the Japan anime that became her favourite since elementary school. Continued when adult, for a two-year Reicinta was not at all touched the anime world.
"My parents don't like it because I so looked weird," she said. However, with strong arguments, Reicinta can finally go back to the world that has always she loved.
Love of animation also felt by Reza (11), from Bandung. Reza that entice visitors with Gara costumes from the character's story "Naruto", claims to be awkward at first costumed different than others. However, due to the longer acquaintance with people with the same passion with him make this boy feel confident. "At first i'm shy, but seeing so many people, i'm so like it too," he explained.
His mother, Astuti, also supports the activities of his son. Whereas other parents banned their children to not too often watch cartoon, instead of Astuti "I support Reza to participate like this because I want my child even not got negative things on the outside. It's better for him at home alone, watching cartoon is OK," she added.
If Reza do cosplay, Astuti claimed to always participate. In fact, Reza's costume sewing by herself. "I sew everything myself, its OK," said Astuti.
Astuti said there are benefits quoted since his son join the cosplay. "My son once was shy. But now he's confident if had to appear in public," she added.
