Its name is pretty unique, Kampung Seni Lerep. The word "Lerep" taken from a village name which have breezing air in the valley of Ungaran mountain. Then this name adopted as identity of a community "Kampung Seni Lerep".


Kampung Seni Lerep or Kampung Lerep is a settlement of art which built on a 10.000 square meters land in Ungaran, Semarang. Due to the idea from Handoko, an arts lover from Semarang, that place realized in 2006.

Quoted from the official site of Kampung Seni Lerep, Tuesday (23/04/2012) this art settlement not only as a place for introducing cultures, but also a space for realize the ideas. In addition to it, the visitors of Kampung Lerep also invited to appreciate the process and the result of an art works.




Maybe all of them sounds hard to understand, but if you coming there, just  entry inside and let the sense of art possessing yourself.


There's so many facilites which you can enjoy when you visit Kampung Lerep. Among of them are Joglo Indrakila, Joglo Ondrowina, Griya Gladi and Teater Terbuka (Open Theater). Joglo Indrakila is the main building in Kampung Seni Lerep.

Its pretty wide, in 400 square meters. Joglo Indrakila as high as two floors, you can see various art works here. Then in Griya Gladi, which an area formed in 3 little buildings. Each of them in 20 square meters.


You can see artist working, making priceless art works. Griya Gladi also functioned as a staying place for these artists. Griya Gladi also as a showroom for their art works like, batik, ceramics, glass paintings.

And the last, Teater Terbuka which built for performing arts. On a 150 square meters land, this theater functioned as art performing, both modern and traditional. With the a bridge backgrounds, Nah, di sinilah tempat pertunjukkan seni dipentaskan, Teater Terbuka. Di atas lahan seluas 150 meter persegi, this place suitable for you, who loving drama.
